I take the train to Tuas @ 0630 from YCK MRT, managed to get a corner seat and promptly went to sleep.
When I woke up, I was at Bukit Batok Station with 3 batoks in my face, one to my right pressed against the plastic divider, two just infront of me. Now, i'm not writing all about people's behinds but the ugly scene caused by people squeezing into the MRT carriage. All I can say is... its just like a can of sardines. Its just like some scene from the Tokyo subway... except its in Singapore. The MRT staff at the station platform hollers "Please move in and make space" while pushing the last passenger into the carriage and half a dozen people squeal "No more space already lah!". Makes me a tad guilty being seated. Or not.
Anyways, I wonder why people are willing to go through so much invasion of personal space just to leave their house on time to get to the MRT on time and get to work just on the dot. What happened to "early bird gets the worm"? Must everyone get to work at the same time? STupid questions with obvious answers but it just shows how much of a slacker i am then.
