There seems to be a blog trend going on... people abandoning their current blogs so as to hide from unwanted attention to their private lives. Whats the deal with that? I mean, whats the whole point of putting a blog online if you don't want other people to see it? (Eh, Queen? I miss your funky little blog that is now an error 404) Can't you just write stuff that does not need to be so personal?
I watched House of Flying daggers last week (affectionately called jia you fei dao by my pal). The visuals were good, nothing else about the backdrops and colour themes could be otherwise different for a film of Zhang Yi Mou's. However, THE STORY SUCKS. I cannot elaborate as it would cause the creative part of my brain (not very big yet quite potent) to explode. I wonder what the actors thought of the film when they first read the script.
And that blasted song is in my head. I told the witchdoctor I was in love with you. Dum dum dum dum. I told the witchdoctor I was in love with you. Dum dum dum dum. And then the witchdoctor he told me what to do. He told me: Oo Ee Oo Ah Ah, Ting Tang Walla Walla Bing Bang. Oo Ee Oo Ah Ah, Ting Tang Walla Walla Bing Bang!
The Chronicles of Narnia occupies alot of my time now. Seven books (The Magician's Nephew, The Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe, The Horse and His Boy, Prince Caspian, The Voyage of the 'Dawn Treader', The Silver Chair and The Last Battle) merge to create this compilation which was written by CS Lewis. Absolutely amazing stuff. On the outside, it seems to be just another children's tale but the underlying Christian theme is somehow obscured and obvious at the same time... And my brian tingles with excitement with the news that they are going to make a movie out of it:
From www.narnia.com:- 6/28/04: Production has begun in New Zealand on the "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe." Check back soon for updates.
7/31/02: "Shrek" Director Andrew Adamson To Helm "The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe" For Walden
w00t!1
I think the stories CS Lewis wrote for the series is for Sunday School. Its almost equally exciting as Harry Potter (well, not as dark nor full of suspense or twists). Really, wow.
And then theres the Church of Spongebob Square Pants.
Anyhoos here are some Kittens to keep all you cute kitten-lovers occupied just refreshing the page.
